Mullan Road

The Mullan Road neighborhood is probably the fastest-growing area in Missoula, yet it remains significantly rural in some places along the Clark Fork River and its convergence with the Bitterroot River.

City annexation and new development has provided challenges for this neighborhood, and traffic volumes at Mullan and Reserve Streets indicate significant auto dominance.

This area features a broad range of neighborhood styles, from older farm and ranch properties, to wide-open suburban ranch-style houses, to “new urbanist” designs found in Hellgate Meadows, and traditional neighborhood developments such as Pleasant View.

Amenities of the Mullan Road neighborhood include river access at Kona Bridge and Harper’s Bridge (with just remnants remaining), access to Kelly Island, the newly-developed Ranch Club golf community, and Hellgate School District (elementary and middle).

Mullan Road residents can easily access all the commercial endeavors of the North Reserve Street Corridor, as well as the Missoula County Airport and the Smurfit-Stone Container pulp mill.

Here’s the 4-1-1 (including maps) on the Mullan Road neighborhood as provided by the City of Missoula.
