Winter Carnival at Marshall Mountain Feb 6

Join Parks and Recreation for the second annual Winter Carnival at Marshall Mountain on Saturday, February 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The event includes a winter festival for the whole family, snowshoe races sponsored by REI and a mountain bike race sponsored by Missoula Bike Source.

The Winter Carnival includes fun family games and activities, a winter folf course, a groomed Nordic ski course, Nordic ski rentals from Open Road, free snowshoe rentals from REI, wildlife information, winter sports fun, food and beverages, plus live music from Wolf and the Moons.  The $1 suggested donation benefits outdoor recreation education and outreach.

The snowshoe races are open to all ages and include a 3-mile elite course and a 1.5-mile beginner’s course and poker play division. The fat tire bike race starts at 11 a.m., is open to all ages and includes both open and elite courses. Register for both races at Currents Aquatics Center, online at active.com or phone 721-PARK. All racers receive a buff winter hat and chances to win exciting door prizes.
