A local non-profit is seeking a Chief Development Officer for planning, implementing, and directing all aspects of fundraising and marketing activities.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and the employer prefers course work or professional certification in a related field. The successful applicant must have a minimum of five years of successful fundraising experience.

The Chief Development Officer must be committed to building relationships that have the potential to generate resources in support of the organization and its mission. The job duties include obtaining and soliciting corporate and foundation gifts. In addition, he or she will organize special events, generate major gifts, and execute capital projects.

The employer places strong focus on expanding fundraising efforts into previously untapped resources and maximizing existing campaigns and events. The Chief Development Officer will work closely with staff and board of directors, supervise staff, and develop the budget. This is a full time position, offering a full benefit package. The employer will begin screening on January 2, 2013.

The successful applicant must possess organizational vision, demonstrated leadership abilities and have experience managing personnel. The job also requires experience and success in grant writing and cultivating relationships in the community. Applicants must have experience with a non-profit board or have managed a business.

The Executive Director will ensure efficient operation of the store and its programs. She or he will develop an annual budget and operating plan, manage human resources, and develop partnerships to promote reuse and deconstruction. This exempt position pays $42,000 to $48,000 per year, depending on experience. The employer offers excellent medical benefits. The position closes on February 28, 2013.
