Grizzly Football: GSA Spring Tour Returns in 2024

The Montana Grizzlies are back on the road and coming to a town near you!

The Grizzly Scholarship Association Spring Tour – a statewide caravan of University of Montana coaches, administrators, and athletic department staff – returns to the road in 2024, with 12 events around the Treasure State.

From Bigfork to Billings, Sidney, and beyond, the Spring Tour logs nearly 4,000 miles from the mountains to the prairie, visiting local GSA chapters and spreading the good word of Grizzly Athletics.

“The GSA Spring Tour is an awesome time of year. Our fans make so much effort to come see us, and the Spring Tour allows us to go see them, thank them for their loyalty, and raise much-needed funds for student-athlete scholarships,” said GSA Director Coleson Randall.

“We look forward to seeing everyone again, and we thank our chapters who have organized fun events for us all to reconnect.”

Throughout the spring, GSA chapters around Montana roll out the welcome mat with barbecues, golf outings, and socials, giving local fans the chance to socialize with the Griz, win auction items, and talk all things Grizzly Athletics.

UM representatives set to travel the state include athletic director Kent Haslam, head football coach Bobby Hauck, head men’s and women’s basketball coaches Travis DeCuire and Brian Holsinger, just to name a few.

The annual loop of the state kicks-off in the Flathead Valley at the annual Grizzly Golf Classic at Eagle Bend in Bigfork on Friday, May 10.

The convoy then heads to Great Falls for the GSA Griz BBQ with a full host of UM dignitaries on hand in the Electric City on Tuesday, May 14 at the Great Falls Civic Center with more than 500 fans expected. The week continues with golf events in Cut Bank on May 15, and Fort Benton on May 16.

May 20-21 will see the Grizzly roadshow hit the Hi-Line with stops in Havre, Glasgow, and Sidney before making a return to Billings.

After several hugely successful years, the Billings GSA chapter will once again host a barbecue and social at Camelot Ranch on May 22.

Billings will also play host to the annual QB Club Golf Tourney on May 23 at the Laurel Golf Club, with proceeds directly benefiting Grizzly football.

Golf events in Helena, Butte, and Ronan round out the tour in early June.
