MCT’s Rent: Serving Our Community

The Missoula Community Theatre’s production of Rent opens this week. With the storyline focusing heavily on the importance of community in each of the characters’ lives, MCT staff and the cast/crew of the show are honored to have several community partnerships happening throughout the run of the show.

****The Western MT LGBTQ+ Center (also show sponsors), are partnering with MCT to provide free HIV testing at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts from 11 am – 5 pm on Friday 1/19 and Friday 1/26. All members of the community are encouraged to get tested and learn more about the services offered through the Western MT LGBTQ+ Center.

****Warm clothing drive to benefit Housing Humans, (a Missoula-based non-profit).  Donations of gently used coats, gloves/mittens, hats, socks, and even blankets can be dropped off during MCT Box Office hours (M-F, 12-5) or during any performance of Rent.

****Forward Montana will have a registration table at the Friday 1/19 performance to help show attendees complete or update their voter registration.

****Get Your Rent Paid Split the Pot Raffle during the entire run of Rent, January 18-28. Tickets are $5 (cash only and open to ages 18+) at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts during Box Office hours (M-F, 12-5 pm) and during Rent performances. The winner will be drawn on Monday 1/29; need not be present to win. 50% of the pot proceeds will be awarded to the winner, 25% being donated to The Western MT LGBTQ+ Center and 25% to MCT.

With a production that emphasizes the importance of community and lifting one another up, MCT is grateful to have such wonderful partnerships that can move our Missoula community forward and make it a better place for all of us.  For further information, call (406) 728-7529 or email mct@MCTinc.org
