Six of the Best Vacation Destinations

If you’re looking for vacation ideas for your next trip, it can be hard to narrow it down. There are so many great places to visit. Here are a few of the best.

1. Take a Trip to Paris

Nothing beats strolling the cobblestone streets of Paris. The City of Light is full of beauty and romance. Visit the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. View Notre Dame. Stroll the Seine and take in the view from Montmartre.

In Paris, you’ll take in a city of history and wonder, and you’ll also get to enjoy the shops and food. Parisian bakeries are among the best in the world. The coffee and wine are exquisite as well. Both are great during an afternoon of people watching at a sidewalk cafe. Shop for shoes or a posh scarf and dress like a Parisian.

2. Visit the Wild West

If you’re in the mood for a real adventure, take a trip to West Texas and New Mexico. This works great as a road trip, with so many destinations to explore. Start by flying into Odessa. Rent a car and head west. In a couple hours, you’ll see the flat plains become rolling foothills and then gradually, mountains. Explore Big Bend National Park, the artist paradise of Marfa and the mystery of Terlingua.

From there, continue west into New Mexico, where you can explore the mysteries of Roswell and Carlsbad Cavern. End your trek by visiting White Sands National Park and heading to the artsy Albuquerque. You won’t want to leave this quaint city without a hot air balloon ride.

3. Explore the Caribbean

If beaches are more your speed, take a trip to the Caribbean. The Caribbean islands are full of beauty and excitement. If you’re not sure which to visit, cruises from Florida can take you to many in one trip. This is all with the added advantage of only having to unpack once and always knowing where you’re having dinner.

No matter which island you choose, the Caribbean is a place to relax and enjoy the slow pace of island life. Have a rum based drink and enjoy local dishes. Many dishes are plantain based, with a great flavorful spice.

4. Make Waves at the Beach

If you love a great beach trip but want to stay closer to home, there are many great beaches in the United States. Florida’s are some of the best. Pick an island far away from the crowds, like Captiva to really enjoy.

From here, there’s a lot to do. You can spend time deep sea fishing, paddleboarding or simply walking along the shore. Captiva in particular has great shells that wash up and are sprinkled through the sand.

5. Visit the Pacific Northwest

If tropical isn’t your style, try a trip to the islands of Puget Sound. There’s so much to do on these little faraway islands. Fly into SeaTac and take a ferry across to whatever one you choose to stay on. Enjoy the fresh pine smell that engrosses this area,  and enjoy delicious fresh seafood for dinner every night. Not to mention, there’s much to do, like deep sea fishing and whale watching.

As an added bonus, while in the Pacific Northwest, you can visit Mount Rainier National Park. Mount Rainier is an active volcano. The park gives great views of the volcano if the sky is clear. It also gives you opportunities to visit glaciers and see other amazing natural occurrences.

6. Visit the Big Apple

New York City is another favorite that’s worth a visit. Stay in Time Square and be in the middle of the action. Visit the great museums and see some of the most famous artworks in the world. Go to the top of the Empire State Building, take a stroll through Central Park and eat a hotdog from a street vendor. Take a ferry to see the best views of the Statue of Liberty. With so much to do and see, you’ll want to plan to spend a few days in the city.

No matter where you choose, you should go on an amazing vacation this year. You deserve it!
