27th Annual Run for the Trees Slated For April 20th

Celebrate National Arbor Month with a fun walk or run along the Riverfront trail system. The 27th annual Run for The Trees is Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m. at Silver Park, 900 Cregg Lane. Enter the 1-mile fun run, 5k run/walk or the 10k race. Proceeds help plant new trees in parks, boulevards and schools.

In honor of Missoula’s 30th consecutive Tree City USA award, all racers receive a free tree seedling to plant, Endurance Blend Tea from Lake Missoula Tea Company and race swag. Participants are also eligible for race awards and exciting door prizes. Youth ages ten and under may run the 1-mile race for free.

Registration is $25 if registered by Thursday, April 18 at 12 p.m. Race day registration is $30.  The race is sponsored by Run Wild Missoula, Parks and Recreation, The Good Food Store, Missoula Federal Credit Union and Trees for Missoula. Register online at runwildmissoula.org.

Little Dipper Kids’ Trail Run slated for May 18

Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Big Dipper Trail Running Team and Run Wild Missoula for the annual Little Dipper Trail Run on Saturday, May 18 at 12 p.m.

The event includes 1-k, 2-mile and 4-mile races for youth ages two and up.  The 1-k race is free, and registration for the 2-mile and 4-mile races is $15. Registration includes race swag and Big Dipper ice cream for all.

The race starts at Ten Spoon Vineyard and Winery, 4175 Rattlesnake Dr., and is hosted by Parks and Recreation, Big Dipper Ice Cream and Run Wild Missoula. Register online at www.runwildmissoula.org.
