Light up the Night at Fort Missoula Glow Fest

By BECKY GOODRICH

Missoula Parks and Recreation and UM’s Campus Recreation are teaming up to host Glow Fest, an evening celebration of all things luminous on Friday, September 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Fort Missoula Regional Park.  The event includes live music from the Ghost Peppers, glow-in-the dark games, an art show, food vendors, a light maze, glowing costume contest, fluorescent photo booth and more.

Local artists are invited to display their dimensional light or glow-themed works at the event. Glow Fest also includes a lawn game contest: invent your own glow-themed game and win a Sonos Play wireless portable speaker. Visit atthefort.org for details on the Art Show and Game Contest.

The event is open to the public. UM students can catch a free bus to Fort Missoula Regional Park at Maurice and Connell, between the Fine Arts and Music buildings. The free shuttle will start at 6:45 p.m. and will depart from campus approximately every 45 minutes. The last shuttle from the Fort back to campus departs at 10:15 p.m. Participants can also bike to the Fort with the Missoula Bike Ambassadors, departing from the Carousel in Caras Park at 6:30 p.m.

The $5 suggested donation supports parks and recreation programs. For more information, visit www.atthefort.org or  Glow Fest onFacebook.
