Parks and Recreation To Recycle Christmas Trees

Missoula Parks and Recreation’s Urban Forestry Division is inviting citizens to drop off their cut Christmas trees at area parks to be recycled into productive mulch. To recycle your tree, drop it at one of these sites through January 12, 2016: Playfair Park, McCormick Park, Fort Missoula South Av. parking lot and EKO Compost (1125 Clark Fork Ln.)  Please remove all decorations from the tree, as trees that contain tinsel or other foreign objects cannot be recycled.  Please do not leave yard waste or garbage at drop sites.

TreesThe Christmas Evergreen program recycled over 15,000 trees last year, saving valuable landfill space. If you’d like to support Christmas Evergreen and help plant more trees throughout Missoula, please consider a contribution to the urban forestry program. To donate, phone 721-PARK, stop by Currents Aquatics Center in McCormick Park, or mail donations to the Urban Forestry Division, 100 Hickory St., Missoula, 59801.
