MissoulaMaze Offers Admission for Food: Benefits Missoula Food Bank

Thursday, September 24, MissoulaMaze is hosting the Sixth Annual Get Lost for Good food drive.  The local corn maze, which usually charges $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children for entry, will waive admission fees for those who bring a donation of nonperishable food items during this one-day event.  All food benefits Missoula Food Bank.

“We are suggesting visitors bring a bag of food per group or family,” says owner, Dr. Earl Ellingson. “Bring your friends, and come out and get lost for a good cause!” Dr. Ellingson grows pumpkins, and crafts hundreds of straw bales and corn stalks into a unique attraction. “We also have a petting zoo, mini maze, obstacle course, pumpkin patch and night maze. If you want an extra challenge, come after dark. We remove all the clues and markers from the Maze, making it even harder. We guarantee you’ll get lost!”

Missoula Food Bank accepts donations of all nonperishable food items, but is in particular need of peanut butter at this time. Other pantry staples such as tuna fish and whole grain cereal are also in high need.

“Missoula Food Bank’s choice model is supported by food drives like Get Lost for Good,” says Aaron Brock, executive director. “Coming out of the summer season, when canned food donations are at their lowest, this drive helps us to keep diverse products on our shelves.  It’s about dignity when an increasing number of our neighbors just need a little help.”

MissoulaMaze is open from 10:00am-8:00pm on Thursday, and encourages people of all ages and groups of all sizes to participate.
