BIKEapalooza Kicks Off Sunday Streets Missoula

Sunday Streets Missoula celebrates its 10th annual event on Sunday, July 19, between noon and 4 p.m. on a car-free Higgins Avenue from the red XXXXs at the north end of Higgins Avenue to 5th Street.  We challenge visitors to do it all with more than 50 free activities, including yoga and Oula on the bridge, live music, giant jenga, aerial art, futpong, aikido, bike polo and so much more!

Sunday Streets Missoula promotes healthy living and supports active transportation choices for everyone who lives, works or plays in Missoula. Sunday Streets Missoula is an all-ages, all-abilities and all-interests community event, so bring your bike, foot scooter, skateboard, rollerblades, stroller, stilts and walking shoes to Higgins Avenue – explore downtown and have fun!

2015-07-17_1633This year, the inaugural BIKEapalooza is kicking off Sunday Streets. Bicyclists meet at the north end of Higgins Avenue at noon for a casual ride around town featuring several key bicycle network connections. The ride concludes just before 1 p.m. with free ice cream for all participants. All abilities are welcome; BIKEapalooza spirit is encouraged.

Sunday Streets Missoula and BIKEapalooza are presented by Missoula In Motion, a program of the City of Missoula.  This open streets initiative for healthy living is made possible through the generous support of dozens of local businesses and organizations.  We couldn’t do it without major sponsors, including Tour of Montana, MissoulaEvents.net, Pacific Source Health Plans, Community Medical Center, Missoula Federal Credit Union, Mountain Broadcasting 102.5 and The Trail 103.3.
