Splash Montana Water Park to Open May 24, Weather Permitting

Missoula’s outdoor waterpark, Splash Montana, will open for the 2014 season on Saturday, May 24, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will remain through Monday, May 26, weather permitting.  If inclement weather prevents Splash Montana from opening on Memorial Day (May 26), Currents Aquatics Center will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

From May 24 through June 12, the water park is open on weekends only, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting.  Beginning June 13, Splash Montana will be open daily.  Splash Montana’s summer hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Three water slides, a lazy river, the children’s water playground plus the Crazy Creek Café make Splash Montana an all-day destination for families.  The Lake 50-meter pool has eight competition/lap lanes and features competitive swimming, lap swimming, swim lessons, water polo and more.  New this summer, Splash Montana will offer Aquacize water aerobics classes on Monday and Wednesday at 5 p.m. beginning June 16.

girl-slideBoth Missoula aquatics facilities are fully ADA-compliant and have a wheelchair lift and water wheelchair.  Certified lifeguards, shaded lounge chairs and full-service locker rooms make Splash Montana a safe and fun option for those seeking to cool off and stay active this summer.

Two party cabanas are available for rent and full birthday party menus are available.  Splash Montana offers group rates during regular hours, and the facility is available for after-hours rentals.

Splash Montana also offers Learn to Swim classes for ages 6 months to 14 years, beginning June 16.  Currents Aquatics Center in McCormick Park will continue to offer swim lessons for infants, toddlers, youth and adults and adult fitness classes (with evening and weekend options), plus recreational swim and lap swim.

Admission at Splash Montana is $3.75 for youth 11 and under, $4.25 for ages 12 to 17 and seniors ages 58 and up and $6 for adults.  City residents may purchase a Resident Discount Card to qualify for a 20 percent discount on admission.  Annual and seasonal passes and punch cards offer additional savings between 25 and 55 percent. Share The Fun Youth Recreation Grants are available for families who need financial assistance.
