My Favorite List of Frugal Spring Cleaning Methods

By ERIN TURNER

Are you loving the sunshine and warmer temperatures lately?  One of the things I love about springtime is finally opening the doors and windows and airing out the house.  It feels so good to have fresh air flowing through the house again!

With the spring breezes coming in, it makes me want to shake out all the dust and dirt that has quietly accumulated over the winter.   Once this cleaning ritual begins, it bleeds out to all aspects of the house.    Like last week, I washed the exterior windows on the front of the house but then I noticed dirt and spider webs on the siding, so the whole house got a bath!  And then the rock work needed hosing down and pretty soon I was power washing the front porch as well.

With spring cleaning on your mind, you may be looking for ways to get your house clean and fresh without spending a lot of money OR a lot of time.  Over the years, I have written about various cleaning methods which I have found to be successful AND frugal.

Here is the list of all those methods.

The Best Method for Window Cleaning –After all the snow, rain, sleet and whatever else we had this winter, the windows are filthy!  Nothing compares to sparkling, clean windows in spring time!

unnamedPolishing Silver–The Only Way!– If you follow on me on Facebook, you know how much I love this method of polishing my silver.  I did it this way for the first time last Easter and my silver was shiny all year long.  I just polished it all again last week for our Easter dinner.  Beautiful, frugal AND so easy!

Looking for all-natural household cleaners?  These recipes are the ones I use daily.  I love them because I know the ingredients that I’m using; they are all things I have available and they are all super cheap!  Plus, I love adding different essential oils to make my own fresh scent.  Try making your own Household Cleaners.

Has Fido left his mark on your carpet this winter?  Before calling in the pros and spending a bunch of cash, check out this amazing way to remove stains from your carpet!  I have so much luck with this method.  Again, this Carpet Stain Remover is natural, frugal and effective.

Here is my favorite, all-time cleaning discovery.  It’s the Microfiber Furniture Cleaner.  I am always so shocked at how clean my microfiber sofa gets using this method!  (Actually, I’m more appalled at how dirty my furniture is!).  This is truly a miracle!  It will save you hundreds of dollars…one cleaning and your furniture will be like new!!

And when you are done cleaning your house this spring check out this post for some tips on how to soak your tired, sore feet the frugal way!  And while your filling up your tub, you might as well sprinkle some “magic” on your flowers with this spring for lots of blooms and healthy plants!

Happy Spring and Happy Cleaning!
