Cooking Class
Flavors of the World: Portugal
6:30 PM
Good Food Store
6:30 pm, $35

Portuguese fisherman have been netting and trading cod since the 15th century and bacalhau – dried, salted cod – is a national food staple of this coastal country. Tonight Gulsidel Velasquez will start with bacalhau, but that’s barely a hint of what you will taste and learn to prepare. He’ll also incorporate his fondness for ingredients like cinnamon, vanilla and curry powder into a selection of traditional Portugese dishes. Be sure to sign up for this class right away, as Gulsidel has
become a local favorite in our school and his celebrations of global flavors fill very quickly.

  • Bacalhau Conzido com Couve Portuguesa (Portuguese Cod)
  • Caldo Verde (Green Stew)
  • Arroz à Portuguesa (Portuguese-Style Rice with Meat)
  • Feijoada à Portuguesa (Black Bean Stew with Meat)
  • Azores Osso Buco (Portugese Osso Buco)
  • Queijadas (Fresh Fruit Muffins)
