Hi Eva!
Congrats to you and Milo!!! He is so darn cute.
I look forward to reading your posts here on MIM.
And that reading….good for him! I missed the Riverbank Run this year due to an orchestra trip, but I heard it was awesome. Thanks for all you do, and what you do to support all of us on the outskirts, also!
Love,
Jen
Awesome new blog Eva! Looking forward to your writing…as well as the other runners/walkers in Missoula who will be contributing to this blog. Congrats to you and all your efforts with Run Wild Missoula. The Missoula Marathon being named Montana’s Tourism Event of the Year is a HUGE accomplishment!!! The community of Missoula is blessed to have you and all the runners/walkers that make up the Missoula fitness/outdoor Rec scene! Run Wild!!!!
This is so exciting! I’m so glad you and Milo have found a shared passion. Pretty impressive he ran in crocs too!
Yea, I would have LOVED to have seen a photo of Milo in his crocs!
Who knows, maybe running in Crocs will be the new craze…
Nice story Eva, and great race Milo! I miss the days of carefree running. He should have raced in his car slippers, those have always looked fast.
Oh, I forgot about his car slippers. He should have worn those!
Hey, Eva. Thank you for giving crocs the respect they deserve! Kids can do anything in crocs and insist on wearing them for all occasions – running, horseback riding, hiking, formal wear – you name it! I could not agree more – parents get a particularly wonderful sense of fulfillment when they share a passion with their children. I look forward to hearing more about your joint running adventures.
Awe, Eva! LOVE this. When I was pregs with Margot, Andy and I talked about what our kid would be like…we guessed at a few things and then Andy said, “well, she’ll ski. I mean until she’s old enough to choose her own passions. Like, until she’s 21 or so.” We still laugh about it.
You are so right on when you say “We hope our kids will find something in the world that they are passionate about, but when we can share that “thing” with them it’s like winning an Olympic medal.” And, I love imagining you running hand-in-hand, crocs sailing off in the cold air.

Love this Eva! I’m hoping Asa embraces running as well. I bet Milo was a proud little guy! Asa keeps asking me if he can join me on my runs. I’m usually quick to say “some other time”, but you’ve inspired me to say YES! Even if I can’t go as far or fast as I’d like. Also, I’m totally going to Costco to get the BOB books. Asa loves reading them too!
xo,
Joanna
Thanks Eva…What a great story!
My 27-year-old son also loves reading and running.
I still remember our first organized event, the “Cranberry Walk” in Wisconsin’s northwoods when he was about Milo’s age. Now he is running ultra-marathons and still loving it. And reading the rest of the time.
I share this because I want you to know you have SO MUCH to look forward to. It just gets better and better.
