America’s Great Outdoors
In October 2011, Fort Missoula Regional Park was selected as a Signature Project of the U.S. Department of the Interior’s America’s Great Outdoors Initiative (AGO.) The AGO Initiative was launched in 2010 to establish a community-based, 21st-century agenda for conservation, recreation and reconnecting Americans to the outdoors. The park was identified as one of the best investments in the nation to support a healthy, active population, conserve wildlife and open space, and create travel, tourism and outdoor-recreation jobs across the country.
Friends of Fort Missoula Regional Park is a group of individuals and organizations who have been working for more than 10 years toward development of Fort Missoula Regional Park. FrFMRP is dedicated to the development of the park for the benefit of the entire community by promoting sports, recreation, science, historical and cultural opportunities and community benefits.
