The reporter works weekends, holidays, nights, and additional hours during storms. A family advocate is needed to work with homeless and at-risk families to help them secure community services. The advocate works closely with schools, provides initial screening and assessment, develops personal and family-strengthening goals, maintains records and completes documentation, and assists parents in accessing services, among other duties. A bachelor’s degree in social work or human services and a year of experience is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience, including personal experience as a service recipient, is acceptable.
