A Missoula employer seeks a chef de cuisine. This position reports to the executive sous chef. In the absence of the executive sous chef, this employee directs and supervises the production manager, sous chef, and multiple employees. The chef may order food and supplies for upcoming events. Normal responsibilities include the safe production and service of food. This employee envisions, creates, and produces a variety of recipes and menus that include catering and a food court. Abilities at this level are typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in hospitality or food service management or a related field and at least three years of directly related experience or a two-year culinary degree and four years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least two years of experience in catering or fine dining and the ability to be ServSafe certified within a year of employment are required.  Wage is $18.40 per hour; a highly qualified individual may be eligible for a higher rate of pay.
