4 Ways to Save Big Bucks at Target

By ERIN TURNER

I’ve talked about lots of different stores and their great deals over the years but the one place I haven’t touched on is Target.  I’m not sure why I haven’t because I have scored some awesome deals there and love to shop there!  But today I’m going to share with you why I love Target and how I save mega money there.

There are so many ways you can save at Target!  It sometimes is mind-boggling, but let’s start with the simple ways first:

1) Price Cuts:  These are Target’s clearance items.  Typically you can find them on the end caps of aisles and in other various areas throughout the store.  Look for the yellow signs which say “Price Cut”.  Even if you don’t use coupons, you can still save a ton of money by just shopping the Price Cuts.

2)  Coupons: Target accepts all manufacturer coupons PLUS they will also accept Target Coupons. That means you can apply two coupons to one item for extra savings. You can find Target Coupons in the Sunday inserts all of times or the easiest way to get them is to print them off the Target.com website.  When you go to the website, look for “Ways to Save” and click into the coupon section.   Scroll through the available coupons and print the ones you want.  Remember…to get the biggest savings you can combine these Target coupons with a manufacturer coupon.  Can you say “Cha-ching”?

Okay, those are the easiest ways to save at Target.  But let’s get a little more intense and save you a little more money!  Here’s how:

Save at Target with Cartwheel App

3) Store promotions:  Target offers lots of different promotions.  They typically result in a Free $5 Target Gift Card after you purchase specific items.  For instance, if you purchase 3 Glade candles you receive a $5 Target Gift Card.  Okay, great…but let’s knock this one out of the park and save some real money.  Buy your 3 Glade candles but combine a $1 off/2 manufacturer coupon PLUS a $1.50/2 off Target Coupon for even more savings!  (Tip:  Look for clearance candles for a super deal!)  So, if you pay $2.99 for each candle your total will be $8.97 minus $2.50= $6.97 then subtract your $5 gift card and you’ve just paid $1.97 for 3 candles.  See how that works?

4) Cartwheel App:  Download the app called “Cartwheel”.  It allows you to download even more coupons.  You simply scroll through the coupons/offers and click on which ones you want and then when you check out just have the clerk scan the code and it automatically brings the total down.

This past week I scored some great deals using all these awesome methods at Target.  Now, you may be overwhelmed by all the options and ways of saving so here is a little secret: check out the website TotallyTarget.com.  This site makes it easy and takes the work out of it for you.  It lists the deals and what coupons to use.  So, you can just log on, check out the weekly deals, collect the coupons and then head to Target to save!  It really is easy and oh, so fun.

With so many ways to save, it makes me love shopping at Target even more.  I love that I can save on everything from socks to ice cream all in one location!  And with so many ways to save, Target is the perfect place for busy people who don’t want to go from store to store looking for savings!
