Philadelphia, PA – After their recent loss (34-16) at Northern Arizona the University of Montana Grizzlies dropped just a few notches in the weekly Sports Network and FCS coaches polls, which were released by those organizations today (Monday, Sept. 30).

Montana (3-1) went from seventh to 10th the Sports Network’s poll, earning 1,964 points, while the Griz went from a seventh place tie to 12th in the coaches’ poll, receiving 330 points.

Two-time defending national champion North Dakota State (4-0) stayed entrenched at No. 1 in both polls, receiving 157 of the 158 first-place votes and 3,949 points in the Sports Network poll, and NDSU got all 26 votes by the FCS coaches. NDSU beat sixth-ranked South Dakota State 20-0 last Saturday.

The Big Sky Conference still has five teams ranked in the top 25 in both polls: Cal Poly (2-2), Eastern Washington (2-2), Montana State (3-2), Northern Arizona (3-1), and the Griz.

EWU is the Big Sky’s highest ranked team, at fifth in the coaches’ poll and sixth in the Sports Network’s weekly poll.
