MslaJobFair160x300_EmployerAnyone who has been involved in a job search of any length has probably wished for one simple, concentrated collection of employers to meet. Any employer with a position to fill would likely wish to round up applicants in a single day. Such wishes are granted at Western Montana’s Largest Career Fair on April 25, where prospective workers and employees meet for the afternoon.

Brought to the Missoula area by the Missoula Job Service and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, the career fair will be held at Hilton Garden Inn from 3-6:30 p.m. Veterans and their families are invited to come early at 2:30. Applicants are encouraged to come dressed for interviews, carrying copies of their resumes in their hands and their best self-promotional “elevator speech” in their heads.

More than 60 employers posted at individual tables will trade their job applications for applicants’ resumes, size up job seekers, and offer interviews to their favorite candidates. The savviest job seekers will research those employers ahead of time and learn what jobs are available.

It’s not too late for employers to register for the career fair. Go to our Missoula Western Montana Career Fair website. The same site offers tips and lists the names of employers and sponsors of the fair.

Job seekers are invited to a free workshop on April 17 on how to be successful at a job fair. It’s at the Missoula Job Service at 10 a.m. Participants must be registered and should call 406-728-7060. Registration is free at employmissoula.com or at the Job Service, 539 South Third Street West.
