A local bio-based renewable chemical company is seeking Laboratory Technicians to work under close supervision performing routine, repetitive tasks in support of chemistry lab researchers. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a science related field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology or chemical engineering. Applicants must have one year of experience in chemistry classroom laboratories. The employer prefers that applicants possess knowledge of lab safety, chemical safety and industrial hygiene. The Lab Technician will clean and sterilize equipment, organize and prepare lab work areas for tests and analyses, and maintain detailed records. This is a full time position offering 40 hours per week with a Monday through Friday schedule. A Missoula area employer needs a Montana Licensed Journeyman Electrician. Applicants must have obtained journeyman-level experience as the job entails working on a large commercial project. The Electrician will work with commercial construction wiring, following wiring diagrams. The job requires experience with electrical conduit bending and romex wiring. In addition, applicants must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record. This is a full-time, permanent position. A forestry company with a base in Missoula is seeking seasonal Wildland Fire Fighters for their 2013 crews. The employer is seeking those who want to be part of a great team, test their limits and make some money. Applicants must demonstrate fitness capacity, as this is physically demanding and occasionally hazardous work. In addition, prospective employees must attend and pass a five day training course. As a Wildland Fire Fighter, you must be able to hike with weights averaging 45 pounds across steep and rugged terrain. The job entails travel throughout the United States and the ability to be away from home for extended periods of time. If applicants have a current red card, a refresher course will be offered.  The successful candidates will be fighting forest and range fires across the United States. The Fire Fighter will work varied hours and shifts depending on the need during fire season. Those with no experience start at $11.16 per hour. Those with experience will discuss pay with employer. A local engineering firm seeks an engineering or computer aided design technician for full time employment. The company is looking for energetic, talented individuals that learn quickly and have a passion for engineering. Qualified individuals must have a minimum of one year computer aided design certification or a two year Associate’s Degree or four years of progressive experience in Auto CAD. Experience and training in Revit is preferred as well. The salary is from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. The Technician will draft using current AutoCAD and/or Revit platforms. She or he will work closely with structural engineers to produce construction documents and back check project information according to CAD standards.
