A busy Missoula non-profit organization is seeking a Program Operations Director.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field and five years of senior-level management experience with supervisory responsibilities in a non-profit organization or closely related direct-service agency. Applicants must have a current driver’s license and a clean driving record.

The employer states that commitment to working with diverse groups of people is essential. The job necessitates excellent communication skills, flexibility and strong organizational skills.

The Program Operations Director is responsible for the overall operation of food distribution and recovery programs. He or she will provide leadership as a member of the management team. The successful applicant will guide staff in the delivery of services following the mission and values of this agency.

This is a full-time exempt position, with a work schedule generally 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Program Operations Director will earn from $35,000 to $45,000 annually, depending on experience. This position closes on January 22, 2013.

A local optometrist seeks a part-time Optometric Assistant. This position requires custom service skills, strong attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Applicants must be groomed for public contact.

While the employer prefers optometric experience, the employer will train if needed. The successful applicant will answer the phone to schedule appointments and triage patients, file, and check patients into and out of the clinic, including entering confidential medical data and patient charges.

Other duties include assisting the optician in fitting and dispensing eye glasses, and ordering and dispensing contact lenses. The optometric assistant will also pre-test patients with automated optical equipment.

The Optometric Assistant will typically work Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Hours may be slightly flexible for approximately 24 hours per week. The wage depends on the employee’s previous experience. The employee will also receive at-cost eye care for herself or himself and immediate family.

A Missoula non-profit is seeking Wilderness Field Staff for intensive intervention for 14-17 year olds participating in programs that help them change direction, build self-worth, cultivate insight, and develop interpersonal skills.

This job entails working with at-risk youth in a backcountry setting. Applicants must have a current Wilderness 1st Responder or Wilderness EMT certification and must be in good general physical and mental health. The employer prefers applicants have a Bachelor’s degree.

The Wilderness Field Staff will lead a four-week backcountry trip with up to six at-risk youth. He or she must ensure the physical and emotional safety of all group members and collaborate with the program therapist to develop and implement individual treatment plans.

This position’s schedule will include approximately 30 days on and 30 days off during the months of April through August and 48+ hours of training in March. The pay depends on experience. This position closes on January 21, 2013.
