Bike Me Out to the Ballpark

By RYAN NEWHOUSE

This week marks the opening of the Missoula Osprey baseball season, and I’m here to tell you how to get some crazy good deals on seats. All it takes is a riding your bike and joining the Missoula Osprey Bike Club, now in its second year.

A joint project between the Missoula Osprey and Missoula In Motion (MIM), the Bike Club is an additional incentive for biking to all Osprey home games. MIM already sponsors Tuesday nights’ “Bike to the Ballpark,” offering two-for-one tickets and free “blinky” lights to those who bike to the game. But for those who really want to ride the extra mile and get some cool swag to boot, joining the Bike Club is the way to go!

Members can join the club for only $19 (only $10 if you’re already a Osprey Season Ticket holder), and with your membership you get all this (plus a lot of good Karma):

  • One free General Admission ticket and Super Scorecard for every Tuesday regular season Osprey home game ($40 value)
  • Free exclusive Bike Club Osprey Cap ($12 value)
  • Membership Card
  • Special Prize Drawings at Tuesday regular season home games
  • 2-for-1 GA tickets for all Sunday and Monday home games
  • Exclusive Meet & Greet with Osprey players – scheduled for August 30
  • And a percentage of each membership goes to Alternative Transportation Improvements at Ogren Park Allegiance Field

And to sweeten the deal, Missoula In Motion is also offering a free drawstring bag for signing up. The bag is the same one they will be giving away this Thursday night (June 23) at the Missoula Osprey’s second home game of the season (game time is 7:05 p.m.).

The Missoula Osprey organization has been continuing to increase its capacity for bike parking every year, as more and more folks are finding out just how easy it is to ride to Ogren Park Allegiance Field. I’ve been to many of the “Bike to the Ballpark” games, and there are easily over a hundred bikes there. It’s a beautiful sight.

If you’re ready to join the Bike Club, you can find a link to the membership form on the Osprey website – look for the Bike Club link on the left-hand side of the Ticket page. Fill it out and send it in.

So what’s your favorite thing about Missoula Osprey baseball – watching the game, drinking the beer, riding to the park? Let me know below.
